Years ago I read a book by Tom Sine called The Mustard Seed Conspiracy. The book was based on a story Jesus told about a man who planted a mustard seed in his field. Jesus observed that when this tiny seed is planted, a large bush eventually grows to house a variety of birds. After talking about the concept of small deeds becoming major influences, Sine related examples of what people were actually doing. I was amazed to see the effectiveness of a myriad of simple thoughtful actions. It was also heartwarming to see the number of people involved in “the conspiracy.”
Successful people have a similar conspiracy going. They recognize that it is a relatively simple thing to plant a smile, a thank you, a pat on the back, a short visit or a phone call. Helping a coworker finish up a project, showing a new employee where supplies are located, or getting a report to the boss early can all be ways to grow a positive work culture.
I invite you to join the conspiracy and plant a small, thoughtful seed in your family, neighborhood, town, school, faith community or anywhere you find yourself today.
CHAMPS are busy with thoughtful actions.
